ILACHE applauds the Supreme
Court decision to uphold affirmative action in American public universities. Diversity
is a compelling educational goal, critical in preparing students to live and
work in a global economy. As the affirmative action debate continues, we ask
that universities and colleges hold fast to their mission of preparing all
students to live and work in a multicultural society. Now is the time for bold
measures to increase the college access and degree attainment of diverse
students. If higher education falters in this mission, we will endanger our
economy, fail our country, and threaten our future. ILACHE will continue to be
an active participant in safeguarding diversity in higher education.
