A coalition of the state's major public employee and teacher unions filed a lawsuit in Springfield today alleging Illinois' new pension law is unconstitutional and amounts to "theft."

Pat Quinn approved a measure to scale back retiree cost-of-living increases and increase retirement ages for current workers. The bill is aimed at eliminating the state's $100 billion government worker pension debt over 30 years.
